• Is Runtown’s Song ‘Mad Over You’ The New ‘Ojuelegba’ By Wizkid?? (Drop Your Comments)

This article was written mainly for Naijaloaded. I had been harbouring the thought of featuring on a major Entertainment website. I had sent lots of articles bothering on national issues, however,  none got published, so I decided to write an article about Wizkid and Runtown. This taught me about identifying your market. Though a short article, this article also made it to Omojuwa and other Nigerian blogs.
Late last year, Eric Manny’s act Runtown released a Afro-Pop track, ‘Mad over You’ which also had a fusion of some Ghanianflows and captivating Afro-beat sounds.
The song has continued to garner massive airplay on most Radio and TV stations and also sits atop many music charts.
This feat drawn comparison with Wizkid’s popular track ‘Ojuelegba’.

Ojuelegba, from Wizkid’s sophomore album Ayo, was an instant hit.
Infact it was arguably Africa’s biggest song for the year 2015.
The song which illustrated Wizkid’s early life as a musician; opened new doors for Wizkid as an international artiste; and also establish a working relationship withCanadian rapper Drake, who went on to jump on the track along with British-Nigeria grime artiste, Skepta.

Across 2015-2016, Ojuelegba was everyone’s favourite at any event. It was a song that could soothe your feelings, inspire you and according to Skepta: ‘it could be a song that could gear you up when you’re down’.
However, Runtown’s Mad Over YOU could step up to be the new Ojuelegba and also Africa’s best song of 2017.
The Del B-produced song tells of Runtown’s endless love for an unknown girl telling her of his non-stop love for her.
Mad Over You has started topping most Nigerian charts and also No.38 on the popular billboard charts.
Runtown’s Mad Over YOU looks set to be the best song coming out of 2017 in Africa.
